frequently asked questions.

How do I create an event?

Open BoredApp, tap the + button on your home screen, pick a category, add a title, time, and place, then invite friends. Everyone you invite can RSVP, vote in polls, and see live arrival times.

How do I invite people to an event?

Open the event and tap Invite. You can add friends directly or share an invite link. Anyone with the link can join — no account required to view, but they'll need to sign in to RSVP.

How do I add a co-host?

Only the primary host can add co-hosts, and the person needs to have joined the event first. Open the event, tap the attendee count to open the guest list, tap the person you want, then tap Make Co-Host. Co-hosts can run polls, manage checklists, and manage attendees. To remove one, tap them again and choose Remove Co-Host.

How do I add a checklist?

As a host or co-host, open the event and tap Tasks (or New list in the Tasks bar). Give the list a name — like "Packing list" — add up to 20 tasks, and assign each task to one or more attendees. Tasks default to you, so tap a task's assignees to hand it off. Shared tasks get a checkbox per person, and assignees are notified in the event chat. You can create more than one list per event.

What kinds of polls can I run, and how?

As a host or co-host, open the event and tap Poll, then pick a type. When? (date & time) lets the group vote on the start time — the winner sets the event time. Where? (location) lets them vote on a place via Google Places — the winner sets the event location. Custom poll lets you vote on anything with 2–5 options. Date and location polls allow one open at a time (the winner rolls onto the event); custom polls are unlimited. Everyone taps their pick, and when you close the poll the winning option is applied.

Do you track my location?

No. BoredApp never stores your coordinates. When you share a live ETA, your location is sent only to Google's APIs to compute an arrival time, then discarded. Nothing is retained.

I can't sign in.

Make sure you're using the same email or sign-in method you originally registered with. If you're still locked out, email us at info@boredapp.io from the address tied to your account and we'll help you recover it.

How do I delete my account or specific data?

You can delete your account immediately from inside the app, or remove individual messages, polls, and events without closing your account. See our Delete Account page for step-by-step instructions.

Is BoredApp free?

Yes. BoredApp is free to use and does not currently process payments.
