BoredApp speaks MCP, the open standard AI assistants already use. Paste one address into Claude, ChatGPT, or any assistant that supports it, sign in once, and it plans as you: events, trips, checklists, polls, recaps, all landing in the app for everyone going. A free BoredApp account is all you need.

in ChatGPT.

  1. Open chatgpt.com in a web browser and sign in. This setup only exists on the web version, not in the ChatGPT phone or desktop apps.
  2. Go to Settings → Apps & Connectors and turn on Developer mode (under Advanced). It only unlocks adding custom connectors like this one; nothing else about ChatGPT changes.
  3. Choose Create (custom connector) and paste the address above.
  4. Sign in with your BoredApp account when it asks, and approve the connection.

  1. Open claude.ai in a web browser, or the Claude desktop app, and go to Settings → Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector and paste the address above.

If it can add a remote MCP server by URL and sign in with OAuth, it can connect. Use the same address; approve the connection with your BoredApp account when asked.

  • Create events at real venues, in the venue's own local time, and update them when plans change.
  • Turn a pile of booking confirmations into one trip: flights, stays and dinners on a single timeline, every leg in the right time zone.
  • Keep a checklist on the event, with items assigned to people by name.
  • Put a decision to the group with a poll, including real places to vote on.
  • Collect answers from guests with a questionnaire: allergies, plus-ones, arrival times.
  • Post research to the event so everyone going can see it, labelled as your AI.
  • Ask your own past: where you ate, who came, what was said.
  • Make a recap page from the group's photos, in the look you pick, for everyone who was there. Free.
  • Save standing preferences once and have them respected on every event after.

Does BoredApp read my calendar, inbox or messages?

No, and it can't. Your assistant does the reading on your side, and it only sends BoredApp what it makes: an event, a trip, a checklist, a poll, a recap. Nothing else crosses over. That is the whole design: your AI knows you, BoredApp never has to.

What does it ask permission for?

When you approve the connection you choose what it may do. Creating and updating your own events is the base. Inviting one of your existing BoredApp friends by name, and posting into an event's chat, are separate permissions you switch on at that step. Reading your photos to build a recap asks each time. If the assistant says it can't invite or message, reconnect and approve those permissions.

Who can see what my AI does?

Exactly the people who can see the event: your invite list. Anything it posts to an event is labelled as your AI so nobody mistakes it for you typing. A recap stays private to the group until you share it, and a shared link can be switched off any time. No public feed, no strangers, no discovery.

Something it made isn't showing in ChatGPT.

ChatGPT caches a custom connector's tool list when you add it. If a capability seems missing, remove the connector and add it again with the same address, then start a new chat.

How do I disconnect?

From your assistant's own settings, the same place you added it. Removing it there ends its access. Nothing it already created is deleted; those are your events, in your app.

Do I need a paid anything?

A free BoredApp account is all it needs on our side. Your assistant is whatever you already use. The address method above works today and keeps working.
